Collaborative training programme on Natural farming with ATMA for tribal farmers of Ri-Bhoi district

ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ri-Bhoi, organized an off-campus demonstration programme in collaboration with the Agriculture Technology Management Agency, Nongpoh on preparation of Jeevamrit and Beejaamrit under Natural farming today.

Dr. Meghna Sarmah, SMS (Agronomy), KVK-Ri-Bhoi, briefed the farmers about the importance of Natural farming and stressed the use of formulations of cow dung and cow urine for sustainable farming.

Dr. Mightystar Lyngdoh, Deputy Project Director, ATMA emphasized the use of quality seeds, improved varieties and scientific cultivation of crops and vegetables.

Farmers were shown Jeevamrit and Beejamrit preparation and application in their fields during a demonstration, followed by the distribution of leaflets on natural farming in local languages.

A total of 40 farmers of Pahamsyiem village of Ri-Bhoi district attended the training programme.
