Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR), visited ICAR – Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai today and inaugurated the Advanced Biomass Characterization Laboratory, Nanoparticle Characterization Laboratory, and Cotton Fibre Processing Facility. Dr. Pathak also visited the existing infrastructural facilities of the Institute, viz., Fibre and Yarn Testing labs, Mechanical processing facility, and Nanocellulose Pilot Plant.


During an interaction meeting with the scientists and technical staff of the Institute, Dr. Pathak appreciated the performance of the Institute in terms of sophisticated facility creation, technology development & licensing, revenue generation, and incubation & start-up funding activities. He also mentioned that the Institute can be a Model Institute in the ICAR system regarding self-sustainability. He urged the scientists to stick to the research plan prepared for focused development in line with the concept of one product per scientist.
Dr. C.N. Ravishankar, Director, ICAR-CIFE congratulated the scientists of ICAR-CIRCOT on the occasion of the inauguration of various advanced analytical facilities.
Earlier, Dr. S.K. Shukla, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT highlighted the significant achievements of the institute and also the need for the upgradation of various facilities of the institute in connection with the centenary celebration in the next year.
