Dr B.S. Dwivedi, Member (NRM), Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board, visited the ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur, and Regional Research Station, Jaisalmer today.

Dr Dwivedi visited the Institute’s experimental area in Jodhpur, where scientists briefed him on ongoing research in integrated farming, arid horticulture, small ruminant management, commercial agroforestry, protected cultivation, and seed production. In a meeting with senior scientists, he emphasized the Institute's crucial role in enhancing climate resilience and productivity from a farmer's perspective.

Dr Dwivedi also visited the ICAR-CAZRI Regional Research Station in Jaisalmer, lauding the institute’s work on desertification control, sand dune stabilization, water harvesting, and irrigated farming challenges in the hyper-arid region. He interacted with farmers at a Khadin site in Damodara, appreciating their traditional knowledge of water management and crop production for food security.
Earlier Dr O.P. Yadav, Director, ICAR-CAZRI, briefed the research priorities of the institute, progress made in infrastructure development, and efforts in bringing external funding to support research areas for modern practices in arid agriculture.
