The Rythu Sadassu (Farmers Interaction) and Agricultural Exhibition was held at KVK Gaddipally in Suryapet, Telangana today.
The Chief Guest Dr. Udham Singh Gautam, Deputy Director General, (Agricultural Extension) ICAR, emphasised the significance of timely planting with appropriate crops and varieties. He urged the farmers to embrace new technologies in various crops to enhance income by reaching out to extension centers and relevant scientists. Dr. Singh highlighted the significance of women in Agriculture and the various opportunities available to them for self-development.
Dr. Shaik N. Meera, Director, ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-X, Hyderabad addressed the farmers regarding climate-resilient technologies to address the challenges posed by climate change during the event.
Dr. Gautam inaugurated the Rooftop Solar System and launched KVK, Gaddipally's revised website and digital activities. He also released brochures on key initiatives, booklets on bio-fertilizers, mushroom cultivation, and high-density cotton planting, and visited exhibition stalls.
Later critical inputs were distributed to the farmers under the project Outscaling of Natural Farming and Mulberry saplings.
A total of 542 farmers attended the programme.
