4th -11th March 2024, Dehradun
ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun, Research Center organized a drone spraying demonstration and training programme in the village Malpuriaguda, Jeypore under the Agri-drone and Tribal sub-plan project from 5th - 11th March 2024.
Dr. P. Raja, Principal Scientist, and I/c Head emphasised the importance of drone technology, better efficacy with maximum coverage, and minimizing costs while maximizing crop and soil health.
Dr. J. Lenka, Scientist, Centre-Principal Investigator, Agri. Drone Project, briefed the farmers about the benefits of spraying by drone, standard practices, safe pesticides, insecticides, and nutrients for drone spray.
Farmers from Vejahandi and Denganaguda villages in Kundra, Similiguda, Baipariguda, Koraput Districts participated in discussions on drone spraying, safe pesticide use, micronutrients, and standard operating procedures.
During the demonstration, spraying was done using a drone in the fields of farmers of village Manpuriaguda, Boriguma, Vejahandi, and Denganaguda over the crops Rice beans and tomato crops.
The program was held in adopted villages of the REWARD, TSP, and RKVY under the Drone Demonstration project.
A total of 100 farmers participated in the program.
