Empowering Fish Farmers through Capacity Building Training by ICAR-NBFGR

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow organised a residential training on Sustainable Freshwater Fish Farming for Scheduled Caste farmers at the Aquaculture Research and Training Unit, Lucknow. The programme aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of marginalized farmers through advanced aquaculture techniques.

Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR highlighted the institute's continuous support in augmenting livelihood through technical support.

The event involved collaborations with key representatives from the Kalyan Matsya Jiwi Sahkari Federation, Abhinav Matsya Jiwi Sahkari Federation, and Fish Farmer Producer Organizations in Varanasi and Barabanki.

30 participants from these districts received hands-on training during the programme.
