16th Annual Review Meeting of All India Coordinated Research Project on Nematodes in Agriculture was organized at ICAR-National Institute of Biotic Stress Management, Raipur from 12-13 September, 2023. The objective of this workshop was to review the progress of work done by different AICRP centers during 2022-23 and to finalize the technical program for 2023-24.
In his inaugural address, Chief Guest, Dr. P. K. Ghosh, Director, and Vice-Chancellor, ICAR-NIBSM urged the AICRP Nematodes group to include basic research in their technical program including genetic groups/biotypes of plant parasitic nematodes and population dynamics of PPN in different cropping systems.
Dr. S. C. Dubey, Assistant Director General (PP&B), ICAR marked his presence as the Chairman and emphasized the need for a holistic recommendation for PPN across the crops. He also reviewed and provided useful suggestions during two days of technical sessions.
Dr. H. S. Gaur, Former Vice Chancellor, SVPUAT, Meerut, and Dr. Rakesh Pandey, Eminent Scientist, CSIR-CIMAP, Lucknow provided their remarks as Guest of Honour. Both the subject experts provided suggestions for improvement of the technical program.
Dr. Gautam Chawla, PC, AICRP Nematodes presented the annual progress report for the year 2022-23.
Earlier, Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Joint Director, ICAR-NIBSM highlighted the recent achievements of the Institute.
The delegates from all the coordinating and voluntary centres participated in two days of deliberations and presented their progress report. The recommendations and the technical program for 2023-24 were finalized during the review meeting
