ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, successfully organized a two-day training programme titled ‘Technology Clinic on Meat Processing: Enhancing Meat Processing Efficiency through Technology’ on 24th & 25th June 2025. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme.
The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Girish Patil S, Director, ICAR-NRC on Mithun, and Smt. Keneirienuo T. Zatsu, Deputy Director, Department of Industries & Commerce and Nodal Officer, RAMP.

A total of 27 entrepreneurs from five districts of Nagaland participated in the hands-on training, which focused on the preparation of condiments, ingredients, seasonings, and binders for value-added Mithun meat products. The sessions emphasized the formulation and development of Mithun-based nuggets, sausages, and patties.
As part of the programme, participants visited the Life Ministry Learning Centre, an NGO collaborating with ICAR-NRCM on meat processing initiatives, and the Medziphema Institute Mithun Farm for practical exposure to Mithun rearing and management practices.
