ICAR- Central Institute for Research on Goats, Makhdoom, organised the Entrepreneurship Development Day today.
Dr. N.P. Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Banda University of Agriculture and Technology Banda, was the Chief Guest of the event.
Dr. A.K. Jadaun, Director, Uttar Pradesh Animal Husbandry Department; Dr. Anirban Guha, Asst. Commissioner, NLM, DAHD New Delhi; and Dr. S.N. Ahmed, Deputy Director, Livestock Product, MoFPI New Delhi, were the Guests of Honour.
The scientists from ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Chalesar Center, DDMs NABARD (Agra and Mathura), Head KVK Agra, Deputy Director Small Animals UPDAHD, progressive farmers, FPOs, the officers from Manjari Foundation, and other dignitaries shared their views on opportunities and challenges in goat entrepreneurship development in India in a technical session.
ICAR-CIRG also signed a MOU with the Uttar Pradesh Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying for the development of the goat sector in the state.
More than 200 farmers, SC and ST goat farmers, and 103 trainees from 12 states, progressive goat farmers, scientists, and officials from various departments participated in the event.
