Exposure Meet on Orchidarium Design Techniques and Technical Management of Orchids organised at ICAR- National Research Centre for Orchids today for visiting members of the Mizoram Journalists Association (MJA), Champhai District, Mizoram, and representatives from the Information and Public Relations Department of the Government of Mizoram.

As part of nature learning, the visiting team received extensive exposure to the orchid collections and their variety, as well as potential commercial applications, highlighting the greater dimensions of their conservation in nature and also in ex-situ situations.

Dr. S. P. Das, Director, ICAR-NRCO, delivered a presentation on, ‘Orchid R&D and Future Institutional Road Map including collaborative potentials with the state of Mizoram’.

Dr. Lallawmkima, District Information and Public Relations Officer, Champhai, Mizoram. He emphasised orchid conservation. He said that to achieve the desirable target towards real-time conservation, collaborative ventures are needed among various wings of governance, both centre and state.
