Hands-on Training Course on ‘Cell Culture: Techniques and Applications’

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, organised a Hands-on Training Course on ‘Cell Culture: Techniques and Applications’ from October 30 – November 08, 2023.

The training was organised to develop trained manpower in the fields of cell lines development, maintenance, and its various in-vitro applications, such as cell-based meat, disease diagnosis, virus isolation, toxicology, gene expression studies, cytogenetics, and genotoxicity screening of xenobiotics, biobanking and cryopreservation for conservation efforts.

Dr. U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, emphasised developing trained manpower in the country to use cell lines in various applications, including lab meat.

A total of 13 participants from various universities and organisations across the country attended the training programme.
