A four-day training program on ‘Diagnosis of Zoonotic Bacterial and Viral Infections’(31st January – 3rd February) under the scheme "National One Health Program for Prevention and Control of Zoonotic Diseases (NOHPCZ)” supported by NCDC, New Delhi was inaugurated at ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar today. Thirty Medical, Veterinary Professionals from Uttar Pradesh state and five Technical staff from Haryana have enrolled for this training.


The Chief Guest, Shri Jaibir Yadav, SDM Hisar urged the participants to make use of the expertise and facilities available at ICAR-NRCE, Hisar for the implementation of a better one health programme in their region.
Dr. TK Bhattacharya, Director, ICAR-NRCE briefed about the research work being carried out at ICAR-NRCE. He emphasized the importance of inter-sectoral collaboration and asked the medical and veterinary professionals to work together in a coordinated manner for the control of zoonotic diseases in their state.


Dr. Harisankar Singha, Regional coordinator, NOHPCZ stressed the importance of the One Health programme for the control of existing and emerging zoonotic diseases in the country.
Dr. Shanmugasundaram, the Organizing Secretary briefed about various activities planned during the course of training.
The inaugural programme was attended by 65 people comprising of Medical and Veterinary professionals and other staff of ICAR-NRCE.
