ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata organised a 1-day Annual Review Workshop of ICAR flagship project on Attracting and Retaining Youth in Agriculture was organised today through hybrid mode under the presidency of Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-ATARI. All ARYA implementing KVKs under Zone V participated in this programme.
Dr. Dey proposed linkage with banking institutes, particularly NABARD, for external funding and marketing opportunities for ARYA products. He emphasised the need for youth exposure through Business Incubation Centres and specialized entrepreneurship training. The ATARI Director also urged branding value-added products under the FSSAI banner for better acceptance and suggested that KVKs develop group entrepreneurship for better marketing and return for ARYA beneficiaries.
ARYA presented process documentation, project achievements, constraints, discontinuation of enterprises, regional and factor-specific suggestions for sustainable project management, fund issues, and plans to make ARYA a youth-friendly platform for entrepreneurship development.
More than 30 participants including the Heads of KVKs, Nodal Subject Matter Specialists, Senior Research Fellows, Young Professionals of KVK and all the Staff of ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata were present in the workshop.
