The ICAR- Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur, Maharashtra celebrated its 37th Foundation Day today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. C.D. Mayee, Former Chairman, Agricultural Scientists’ Recruitment Board, New Delhi highlighted the constraints being faced by the citrus growers presently. He applauded the Institute’s Scientists’ research work and their scientific way of dealing with the farmers' problems.


The Guests of Honor, Dr. Y. G. Prasad, Director, ICAR-CICR, Nagpur, Maharashtra and Dr. B.S. Dwivedi, Director, ICAR-NBSS & LUP, Nagpur, Maharashtra outlined the present requirements of the Citrus industry in general and emphasized the role and contributions of the ICAR-CCRI to bring the prosperity of citrus growers.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur, Maharashtra highlighted the Institute’s remarkable contributions during its more than 3 decades of journey.
The 2 Citrus Farmers - Shri Prashant Khursange from Narkhed, District Nagpur and Shri Sandeep Padalwar from Mahur, District Nanded, Maharashtra were felicitated for establishing the excellent Citrus Orchards of Nagpur Mandarin and Sweet Orange Crop with the technical guidance of the Institute.
