ICAR-Central Citrus Research Institute, Nagpur, organized the ICAR-CCRI Agro-Industry Meet from 11th -12th March 2024 to catalyze the research institute and industry connection.
Prof. S. L. Mehta, Former Deputy Director General (Education) ICAR, and Former Vice Chancellor, MPUAT, Rajasthan acknowledged ICAR-CCRI's efforts in enhancing planting material quality and citri-technologies to promote industry-academia partnerships,
Dr. Dilip Ghosh, Director, ICAR-CCRI, Nagpur, and Convenor, ICAR-CCRI-AiM 1.0 emphasised the imperative need for collaborative endeavors to elevate the Indian citrus industry.
Shri. K. Debdutta Sharma, Director, Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation, Govt. of Manipur, Shri. Ravindra H. Thakare, IAS, Additional Tribal Commissioner, Nagpur and Smt. Mamta Jain, Group Editor and CEO, Agriculture World – Krishi Jagran, graced the inaugural ceremony.
ICAR-CCRI inked two MoUs to promote citripreneurship, with over 35 leading agro-industries participating in technical sessions. The sessions covered ICAR-CCRI's technologies and collaboration opportunities, with industry representatives presenting their insights. Panel discussions on topics like planting material, agro-input, agro-chemicals, plant protection, fruit processing, and digital agriculture were held. The event also included an interactive session and a visit to ICAR-CCRI nurseries and research farms.
Over 100 progressive citrus growers from Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, interacted with each other.
