The ICAR-Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh celebrated its “46th Foundation Day” today.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. K. Alagusundaram, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Engineering), ICAR applauded the Institute’s significant contributions made for the modernization of Indian agriculture and its effectiveness in bringing self-sufficiency in food at the national level. In his “2nd Prof. A.C. Pandya Memorial Lecture”, he stated that the future agricultural technologies would be an integration of multidisciplinary sciences and engineering technologies including space, nano, robotics, precision farming and artificial intelligence while providing cost effective solutions for small, marginal and large farmers.
Dr. Kanchan Kumar Singh, ADG (Farm Engineering), ICAR and Dr. S.N. Jha, ADG (PE), ICAR also marked their presence during the occasion.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. C.R. Mehta, Director, ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh highlighted the Institute’s significant achievements during the year. He also presented the Institute’s R&D achievements, technologies developed and commercialized, IPRs filed and awards and recognition earned by its scientists.
Dr. V.P. Singh, Director, ICAR-NIHSAD, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh along with the senior officials of ICAR Institutes also participated in the event.
