The ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture, Chennai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Aqua-Farmers’ Producers’ Organization (FPO), M/s. Betterwell Pvt. Ltd., Cochin, Kerala today.
Dr. K.P. Jithendran, Director, ICAR-CIBA, Chennai and Shri Johns James, Director, Betterwell Pvt. Ltd. signed the MoU on the behalf of their respective organizations.
Dr. Jithendran stated that the Institute’s strength lies in developing and commercializing the several feed technologies to the sector across the country from Northern Punjab to Southern Tamil Nadu.
Shri James highlighted the aim of the Company to provide the cost-effective feed to the farmers, with the concept of Factory-to-Farm.
The MoU was aimed at providing the technology support on the fish feed processing to develop the customized fish feed formulation for catering to the pressing demands of poor and marginal farmers of Kerala. The MoU will involve exchanging the information on customized machineries, feed formulations involving macro and micro-nutritional parameters, feed processing and testing of the identified feed ingredients & finished feeds.
