The ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute observed the International Day of Yoga today by organising awareness workshops and demonstrations of yoga Asanas at its Headquarters in Kochi and various Regional Centres and Regional Stations. The celebrations focused on this year’s theme: ‘Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ effectively encapsulating the collective aspiration for ‘One Earth, One Family, and One Future’.
A lecture followed by a demonstration of yoga was organised at the Mandapam Regional Centre of ICAR-CMFRI. A total of 46 staff of Mandapam Regional Centre participated.
The Visakhapatnam Regional Centre of ICAR-CMFRI held an awareness workshop focusing on the role of yoga for physical and mental health during the time of the pandemic. All the staff participated in the programme with enthusiasm and zeal.
At Tuticorin, demonstration of different Asanas and Pranayama was held. All the staff members participated.
Vizhinjam Regional Centre of ICAR-CMFRI celebrated International Yoga Day with an awareness lecture and yoga demonstration.
A practice session of yoga Asanas as per the protocol received from the Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India was organised at Mangalore Regional Centre which concluded with SAṄKALPA. All the scientists, technical staff, research scholars and contractual staff actively participated in the yoga session.
ICAR-CMFRI’s Regional Stations in Veraval, Karwar and Calicut also observed International Yoga Day by practising different yoga Asanas under the guidance of trained yoga instructors.
The staff of the Mumbai Regional Station joined the International Yoga Day celebration organised by the ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai.
