ICAR-CRIDA organises Kisan Mela under the Farmer FIRST Programme

ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organised a Kisan Mela jointly with IFFCO, today at Pudur Mandal Raithu Vedhika, district Vikarabad, Telangana under Farmer FIRST Programme to create awareness among farmers on the adoption of the new proven Rainfed Technologies for sustainable productivity in the rainfed ecosystem.

The Chief Guest, Dr T. Ram Mohan Reddy, Member of Legislative Assembly, Parigi Constituency, emphasized on to adopt the new technologies developed that were suitable under climate variable conditions for profitable agriculture. Dr. Reddy envisaged the district as renowned for horticulture, especially mango and vegetables, modern technological interventions in this farming will enhance the income level of the farmers.

Dr. V K Singh Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Shri. Chakrapani, District Horticulture and Sericulture Officer, Dr. P. Anil Kumar, District Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Officer and District Agriculture Officer, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Agril officer, Pudur, Shri Satish Reddy, Chairman Primary Agril Co-op Society, Pudur, were present during the programme.

Stalls were set up representing activities from various ICAR-CRIDA departments, stalls depicting FFP interventions, and NICRA activities on climate resilient Agriculture. The Farmers visited different stalls and witnessed the demonstration of Drone applications in agriculture.

About 250 farmers from the FFP programme-adopted villages participated in the programme.
