ICAR-CRIDA organises Skill Development Programme for the Farmers

ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organised a 5-day training programme on Rainfed Technologies for Enhancing Income and Livelihood Security for the farmers, from 29th January - 2nd February 2024, under SC Sub Plan.

Chief Guest, Dr. V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad, emphasised the importance of different rainfed technologies during his inaugural speech. He highlighted the need for skill development and appealed to the farmers to actively participate in different training programmes organised under SCSP.

The Chief Guest for the valedictory session, Dr. M.S Rao, Head, DCS, urged the farmers to implement the acquired knowledge in their fields and also disseminate it to the neighbouring farmers. Later, the chief guest distributed the certificates to the participants. 

Dr. T.V Prasad, Nodal Officer, SCSP briefed about the training programme during the valedictory session held on 2nd February 2024.

The training covered various aspects including mechanization, drudgery-reducing farm implements, repair and maintenance of equipment, drone application in agriculture, crop management, value addition in crops, rainwater management, crop diversification for enhancing income, and the role of livestock for improving livelihood security.

About 20 Scheduled Caste farmers from Chincholi Taluka, Kalaburagi district participated in this training programme.
