ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, organised a 21-day winter school on "Application of Weather Information for Climate Resilient Farming” today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. R.M. Sundaram, Director, ICAR- Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad, stated that this topic of the winter school is very much relevant to the current climate change scenario. He urged the participants to take forward the learnings from the training for managing the climate risks in agriculture.
Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA urged the participants to apply the learnings from the winter school in their respective fields and also highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary teamwork during the valedictory session.
The winter school consisted of 70 sessions of lectures, hands-on sessions, demonstrations, and visits. Exposure visits were conducted to ICRISAT, IMD, INCOIS, ICAR-IIRR, ICAR-IIMR, and Climate Change research facilities at Hayathnagar Research Farm of ICAR-CRIDA.
About 24 participants from various disciplines representing 11 states of the country attended the training programme.
