ICAR-Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week - from 31st October to 5th November 2023. The programme was organised jointly by ICAR-DCR, Puttur, Legal Cell, Puttur and Bar Association, Puttur. The week-long activities during the period were intended to create awareness about transparency, accountability and corruption-free governance, among the staff members and the civil society. Awareness posters on PIDPI were also displayed during the Vigilance Awareness Week programme. The valedictory function was held on 7th November 2023.
Dr. J. Dinakara Adiga, Director, ICAR-DCR, Puttur, emphasised the responsibility of citizens to prevent corruption.
Shri. Archana K. Unnithan., Principal Civil Judge, Puttur, highlighted the importance of daily life changes and discipline in curbing corruption, aiming for a corruption-free tomorrow.
Shri. Shyam Prasad Kailar, Advocate and Treasurer, Bar Association, Puttur said that employment generation will minimize corruption. He also indicated that the students and youth should be motivated to give importance to being honest right from the beginning.
Adv. Nanda Kishore, Puttur, delivered a special talk on the theme "Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation," detailing the various forms of corruption, their consequences, and how they can be addressed at the system level.
The programme was attended by 120 members including the students from Sandeepani School, Puttur.
