ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi, celebrated International Women’s Day 2024 on 7th-8th March 2024. The event aimed to honor the achievements of women and promote gender equality. The celebrations began with a Pink Walkathon within the picturesque confines of the Institute's campus. Participants, adorned in pink attire, partook in the walkathon, symbolizing solidarity and a Rangoli competition, featuring eight groups of students, and scientific/administrative/MTS staff, showcasing their artistic talents through vibrant Rangoli designs, adding a creative flair to the celebrations.
The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Charru Malhotra, Professor, e-Governance and ICT, Indian Institute of Public Administration, emphasised the necessity of increased female participation in TechSpace, highlighting the importance of engaging women to explore creativity through technology. Dr. Malhotra spoke about the invaluable contributions women bring to innovation and advocated for initiatives to address barriers and promote gender inclusivity in the tech industry. She also delivered an insightful lecture on ‘Inclusiveness in Innovations: A Woman-Centric Perspective’.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Director, ICAR-IASRI, emphasized the institute's unwavering commitment in creating an inclusive and equitable environment for all community members.
The event featured various cultural performances by the students and faculty of ICAR-IASRI.
