ICAR-KVK, Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, North Goa conducted a two-day natural farming training-cum-demonstration at Advoi Sattari Goa village, Bhironda panchayat of Sattari taluka from 24 to 25 January 2024, as part of the out-scaling of natural farming through KVKs.
Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, was present during the programme.
Chief Guest Shri. Udaysing I Rane, Bhironda Panchayat Sarpanch, urged the farmers to minimize the use of fertilizers and pesticides for better soil health.
Dr. N. Bommayasamy, Senior Scientist & Head, ICAR-KVK, CCARI, emphasized the importance of adopting natural farming practices such as beejamrut, ghan jeevamrut, jeevamrut, and mulching, which improve soil health and fertility, soil organic carbon content, and soil microbial biomass.
