The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, today officially released the 19th Instalment of the PM-KISAN (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi) scheme in Bhagalpur, Bihar. In a remarkable show of unity and commitment to supporting farmers, Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) across India organized live viewing of the event, with active participation from Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament, State Assemblies/Legislative Councils, State Government representatives, and farmers.
ICAR KVK Dimapur, ICAR Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani
The programme featured Shri Kevi Kuotsu, SDAO, and Medziphema, as a special guest. Shri Kuotsu urged the farmers to utilize the benefits in improving their farming activities.
The inputs like wheel hoes, irrigation pipes, and knapsack sprayers were distributed to all the participating farmers.
Altogether, 46 farmers and 11 officials participated in the programme.

Dr A.K. Mohanty, Director, ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam briefed the farmers on different schemes offered by PM Modi and urged them to avail such facilities for their economic upliftment.
The programme was attended by 60 farmers from Mawbsein, Mawkyrdep, Kyrdem, Sohriewblei and Mawbri villages along with the staffs of KVK, ATARI, ATMA and State officials.
ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore
Shri Shantanu Thakur, Union Minister of State for Port, Shipping and Waterways, graced as the Chief Guest. In his address, he said that there is huge potential for indigenous natural fibres in the foreign market. There is a need to upscale the scientific cultivation, processing, value addition and marketing of jute and allied fibre-made products. He emphasized that the technologies developed by ICAR-CRIJAF and the skill development programme implemented by the institute will be very effective in this direction.
Dr Gournaga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, informed that ICAR-CRIJAF is in premier institute in varietal development that contributed to the continued enhancement in jute productivity due to the release and popularization of more than 100 HY varieties. The impact of these varieties is witnessed not only in India but also in other jute-producing countries, he added.
Dr Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Kolkata, stated that the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi is of great help to the small and marginal farmers to not only procure the farm inputs in time but also facilitate them to adopt new technologies.

The event was inaugurated by Smt Swapna Das Paul, Member of the Legislative Assembly, Surma Constituency, emphasized the significance of the PM-KISAN scheme in supporting farmers and ensuring financial stability in the agricultural sector.
The live telecast not only facilitated direct interaction with the national event but also reinforced the importance of government initiatives aimed at agricultural prosperity.
