ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad celebrated ‘National Science Day’ in collaboration with the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences - Hyderabad Chapter, today. Since 1987, National Science Day is observed annually to honor the discovery of the 'Raman Effect' by Indian physicist and Nobel Laureate Sir C. V. Raman. The theme for this year's NSD was ‘Indigenous Technology for Viksit Bahrat’.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, discussed scientific advancements in agriculture, and their impact on food grain production, self-sufficiency, and export surplus. He also emphasised environmental conservation and encouraged students to reuse plastics in daily life.
Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, emphasised the importance of scientific thinking and awarded prizes to essay and quiz competition winners.
School students participated in a campus tour, visiting the nursery, herbal garden, and bio-diversity Park of the Academy, as part of celebrations to foster scientific attitudes among them.
