ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, organised a 5-day Skill Development Training Programme on Integrated Farming System for the farmers under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan in collaboration with ICAR- K.H. Patil Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hulhoti, Gadag District, Karnataka from 30th January - 3rd February 2024 at the KVK campus.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, emphasised the importance of Integrated farming system in doubling farmer income. He said that IFS is an important technology to get guaranteed income under the changing rainfall scenario. Dr. Rao urged to adopt different cropping patterns, crop diversity, agro-forestry, agro-horticulture, dairy, sheep and goat, sericulture, etc. to attain regular income throughout the year.
Dr. M. Balakrishnan, Chairman, SCSP, urged the farmers to adopt various IFS technologies for the economic security of families especially in dryland areas.
Dr. L.G. Hiregoudar, KVK Advisor & Secretary, Agricultural Science Foundation, Hulkoti, briefed about the various technologies provided under IFS.
Trainees took exposure visits to IFS farmer fields during the programme.

About 50 farmers from Shivajinagar and Brahmanandapura of Gadag district of Karnataka participated in the programme.
