ICAR-National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru in collaboration with College of Agriculture (Central Agricultural University, Imphal), Kyrdemkulai, Meghalaya conducted tribal empowerment program today.

Dr. S.N. Sushil, Director, ICAR-NBAIR briefed about the non chemical technological options for the management of insect pests of hill agriculture. He urged the beneficiaries to adopt ICAR-NBAIR bio control technologies and pest management modules to sustain crop yield.
Prof. Premjit Singh, former Vice-Chancellor, CAU also shared his experience.
Farm inputs under the TSP viz., poultry birds, seed dressers, cono weeders, seeds and seedlings of various crops were distributed to the tribal farmers.
More than 150 tribal farmers from Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya participated and shared their experience regarding benefits of organic farming.
