ICAR-NBFGR Boosts Fisheries Knowledge with Awareness Program for Nagaland's Tribal Communities

ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow organised an awareness and capacity-building programme aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of fisherfolk and aquaculture farmers under the NEH component of ICAR-NBFGR today, in collaboration with ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dimapur, Nagaland.

The Chief Guest, Dr U. K. Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, highlighted the institute’s efforts, activities, and accomplishments in the NEH region.

Aquaculture-related input materials, including quality seeds, feed, and fishing nets, were distributed to stakeholders to support their livelihoods during the event. A farmer-scientist interactive session focused on sustainable aquaculture and fisheries resource management was organised.

The event also marked the celebration of National Girl Child Day.

A total of 250 farmers participated in the programme.
