ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, organised an event at the Coastal and Marine Biodiversity Centre in Airoli, Thane District, Maharashtra, in collaboration with the Mangrove Cell and Mangrove Foundation of the Maharashtra Forest Department.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Uttam Kumar Sarkar, emphasised ICAR-NBFGR's commitment towards wetland and biodiversity conservation.
Shri. Prashant Bahadure, Range Forest Officer, Department of Forest, Govt. of Maharashtra and Dr. Santanu Dasgupta, Vice President, R&D, Reliance, Mumbai, Dr. T. T. Ajith Kumar, Head, PAGR Centre, ICAR-NBFGR was present during the programme.
The event concluded by providing a hands-on learning experience about marine ecosystems.
More than 50 students from Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation School, Airoli, and the Department of Biotechnology of AMITY University, Mumbai, participated in the quiz on "Wetlands and Human Wellbeing."
