The Comptroller & Auditor General of India team visited ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, today to discuss the blue economy perspectives.
Dr. Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Director, ICAR-NBFGR, shared his insights and led discussions on the "Institutional efforts towards sustainable blue economy", through a presentation on the institute's achievements, activities and efforts keeping the national priorities into account, including SDG14. Dr. Sarkar emphasised the transformative efforts of ICAR-NBFGR towards achieving the country's blue economy targets through transdisciplinary and participatory approaches.
Ms. Madhumita Basu, Deputy Comptroller & Auditor General (Report Central), Government of India New Delhi, chaired the meeting. Ms. Basu emphasised the historical and current perspectives on the blue economy to support the national GDP.
Shri V S Venkatanathan, Principal Director, Audit (Report Central), New Delhi, emphasised on the understanding of the scientific contribution in the progress of the national targets and sector-wise compilation of the audit to meet the standards.
CAG team member Shri. Sanjay Kumar, Principal Director, Audit (Central), Lucknow, Shri. K. Jayakar Babu, Deputy Director, Shri. D. P. Srivastava, Senior Audit Officer, Shri. Arghya Chakravarti, Senior Administrative Officer, Shri. Anoop Kumar Verma, Senior Administrative Officer, and a team of ICAR-NBFGR scientists and administrative staff were present at the meeting.
