A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between ICAR-NBSS&LUP and Bihar Watershed Development Society (BWDS) (SLNA), Govt. of Bihar, Krishi Bhawan, Patna for “GIS-based fallow land mapping of Bihar state” to identify district-wise extend and distribution of fallow land as well as cropping intensity map of the state. The project will help in enhancing net cultivated area vis-à-vis cropping intensity of Bihar state by bringing fallow lands under mainstream agriculture through a crop diversification approach on a priority area basis.
Shri. Bankatesh Narayan Singh, Director, Soil Conservation-cum-CEO, BWDS, Govt. of Bihar; Dr. F.H. Rahman, Head & Principal Scientist, ICAR-NBSS&LUP, Kolkata and other Officials from BWDS (SLNA) were present in the event.
