ICAR-NRC on Meat organized training for Startup Entrepreneurs from Assam and other states

2nd – 6th August, 2022

ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad organized a 5-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme on “Wholesome Meat Production and Value-Added Meat Products Processing” from August 2-6, 2022 to foster future entrepreneurs and develop the capacities of startup entrepreneurs to grow their business to greater levels of success.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. S. B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR – NRC on Meat, Hyderabad. During the valedictory address, he assured that the Institute is ready to help and address the issues and challenges faced by the trainees.

Through support from the Commissioner of Industries & Commerce and Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART), Govt. of Assam, eighteen participants attended the training program. Four trainees from Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana also participated in the training.

The experts from ICAR-NRC on Meat provided training on slaughtering & dressing of goat and poultry, further processing and value addition to chicken; goat meat;  pork and their marketing.

Lectures on technical know-how on funding opportunities for setting up a food business, and accelerator programs for start-ups were delivered by experts from the National Institute of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, Hyderabad, and Wadhwani Foundation.

The Chairman and members of 16th Research Advisory Committee of NRC on Meat also interacted with the trainees. The trainees expressed satisfaction and appreciated the efforts of ICAR-NRCM in strengthening human resource development through such trainings.
