ICAR-NRCG celebrated National Science Day

ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes, Pune celebrated National Science Day, today. 

Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Director, highlighted National Science Day's significance, marking the discovery of the Raman Effect. He also spoke about FSSAI's new hand-held device for detecting food adulteration, based on the Raman Effect.

 

As a part of the event a lecture on ‘Health benefits of grape consumption’ was also organised. ‘Benefits of healthy snacks in sustaining good health’ was discussed during the celebration. 

Staff and students actively participated in the poster-making and ‘one-minute’ competitions centered on the theme ‘Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science & Innovation for Viksit Bharat’ arranged on this occasion. 

Dr Sharmistha Naik, Scientist coordinated the programme.
