Different relief camps have been set up at different parts of Imphal West District of Manipur to accommodate the displaced persons affected by the prevailing situation of Manipur State.

A thirty-day Skill-cum-Vocational Training Programme entitled “30 days Skill cum Vocational Training Programmes for Rejuvenating Livelihoods of Inmates in Relief Camps under Imphal West District of Manipur State” organized by ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre and its five KVKs (Chandel, Churachandpur, Imphal West, Tamenglong and Ukhrul) were inaugurated today. The aim was to provide training for livelihood of the displaced persons at different Camps.

The Chief Guest, Smt. Laishram Boby Devi, Up-Adhyaksha, Zilaparisad, Imphal-West, Government of Manipur, stressed the need to work sincerely and iterated that hard work can overcome any obstacles and lead to success.
 

The Guest of Honour Shri. K Jadumani Singh, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, Government of Manipur, was. He accentuated the importance of activities of beekeeping, mushroom cultivation and vermicomposting and stressed the need to make the programme really meaningful by imbibing the finer details of the various techniques during the month-long vocational training programme.

Altogether 93 inmates participated in the programme.
