ICAR Sponsored 10-day HRM Training programme on "Big Data Analysis for Weather based Crop Management" for technical staff of ICAR institutes has been inaugurated today at ICAR- Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad. The programme aims to nurture technical staff under the HRM category on Big Data analysis.
The chief guest, Dr G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, emphasised the importance of big data analysis in crop management. He suggested the participants utilise the training in learning data handling, analysis and developing the data formats in collection of data in usage of drones, and suggested the participants use the learned technologies in their respective domains.
Dr. V K Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, highlighted the importance of digital technologies in agriculture. He urged the participants to learn usage of big data and analysis techniques generated from the digital tools like drones, IOT in agriculture.
Dr. N. Ravi Kumar, Principal Scientist and Course Director briefed about the objectives of the short course.
During the Inaugural session, a compendium of lectures books titled “Big Data Analysis for weather based crop management” was released.
Sixteen Participants from 7 ICAR-Institutes attended the programme.
