Dr. Udham Singh Gautam, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) inaugurated the new facility, Real-Time Monitoring System at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Hyderabad as part of the Digital Extension initiatives of the institute today.
The facility comprises of 75-inch digital display panel capable of running web-based as well as OS based apps, equipped with a high-resolution camera, high gain microphone, and broadband connectivity.
Dr. Shaik N Meera, Director, ATARI, Hyderabad said that the facility can monitor the activities, physical and financial achievements of each KVK on a real-time basis.
The system is enabled with the consolidation of achievements at monthly, quarterly, and yearly intervals. The real-time monitoring facility facilitates constructive feedback, identification of training needs, and offering support to enhance the skills and capabilities of Scientists. It promotes a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
As part of the digital initiative, QR Code based information dissemination on demonstration units and instructional farms was also inaugurated by the DDG.QR codes are displayed at the site of the Demonstration units and instructional farms, at the reception and other premises accessible to farmers and visitors, and on the Websites of KVKs and ATARI. These QR codes provide links to online and offline content providing complete details of the demo unit including the technology/variety, methodology/procedure, package of practices, inputs availability, market potential, economics of the enterprise, etc., in the form of readable and printable html pages, pdf documents, video clippings, and audio. A visitor can go on an unaided tour of the KVK and gather information on all the demo units and instructional farms.
