ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres (ICAR-CRIJAF), Barrackpore, signed a Technology License Agreement (TLA) with M/s Invicta Agritech India Pvt. Ltd., Secunderabad, Telangana, for the commercial production and marketing of certified jute seed variety JROBA-3.
The agreement, valid for five years, marks a significant step in promoting improved jute seed technologies developed by ICAR-CRIJAF. The TLA was formally signed and exchanged in the presence of Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, and Shri Saleh Siddik Ahmed, General Manager (Marketing), M/s Invicta Agritech.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gouranga Kar emphasized the importance of high-yielding jute seed varieties like JROBA-3 in enhancing the productivity and income of resource-poor farmers. He underscored the need for stronger collaborations between research institutions and private seed companies to ensure effective dissemination of advanced technologies to key stakeholders across the agricultural sector.
The partnership is expected to boost the availability of quality jute seeds, contributing to sustainable jute cultivation and the overall growth of the jute industry in India.
