Prof. Karim Maredia, Director, International Programmes, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Michigan State University, USA visited ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa.
Prof. Karim Maredia along with Dr J.R. Faleiro, FAO Consultant visited the fields, animal units, and other facilities of the institute. He congratulated the Director and lauded the efforts of the scientists and, the quality research work being carried out at ICAR-CCARI. Prof. Karim Maredia delivered a presentation on the ongoing activities and international collaborations of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, MSU. He highlighted the possibilities of collaborations between ICAR-CCARI and MSU in the fields of water management, soil health, climate change, fisheries, and agro-ecotourism.
On this occasion, an interaction meeting of Prof. Karim with the scientists of the institute was organized.
Dr Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-CCARI, emphasized the possibility of long-term collaborations between MSU and ICAR-CCARI, scientific exposure of scientists at MSU, and interdisciplinary collaborative research for sustainability in the coastal ecosystem.
A brief presentation on the significant achievements of the institute was delivered during the programme.
Field visits were coordinated by Dr Sujeet Desai and Dr Gopal Mahajan.
