Input distribution and awareness programme organised

ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Assam in collaboration with ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow organised a farm input distribution and awareness programme today under TSP and NEH Scheme of ICAR-NBFGR. The programme was organized under the valuable guidance and visionary leadership of Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI.

The Chief Guest, Shri Jadav Pegu (ACS) and Principal Secretary (Mising Autonomous Council), Govt of Assam, spoke about the benefits of such motivational programme for the socio-economic upliftment of the fish farmers. 

The Guest of Honor, Shri Lakhinath Lagachu, District Fishery Development Officer, Govt of Assam highlighted various developmental schemes and programmes implemented for the benefit of the fish farmers.

Farm inputs in the form of young ones of improved varieties of carps, high quality fish feeds, lime, prophylactic kits, fish nets, fish carrying containers etc. were provided to 100 fish farmers of the region. Five progressive fish farmers of the region were felicitated on the occasion, followed with release of a technical leaflet. Fish seeds were also released in the training institute of Mising Autonomous Council (MAC). 

All the staff of ICAR-IARI Assam attended the programme. 

Dr Deepjyoti Baruah, Principal Scientist (Aquaculture), ICAR-IARI Assam coordinated the programme.
