The 9th Foundation Course for Faculty of Agricultural Universities (FOCFAU) was held from 7th -27th September 2023 spanning 21 days at NAARM, Hyderabad.
The course comprised of 43 modules. Educational and exposure visits were arranged for the benefit of participating young faculty. The foundation course concluded on today.
Dr. A. Padma Raju, Former Vice Chancellor, ANGRAU was the Chief Guest of the valedictory session. He stressed the emerging need for research based on the amalgamation of all the sub-sectors of agriculture.
Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director of NAARM, emphasised the importance of teachers in education, research, and extension activities to enhance university performance and student skills. He recommended faculty learn communication skills, utilizing research opportunities, publishing results, need-based research, and improved data management practices.
Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, NAARM, urged young faculty to make good and effective use of the knowledge and insights obtained during the course.
A total of 25 recently joined the young faculty representing four universities – Rani Laxmi Bai Central Agricultural University (RLBCAU), Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU), Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalithaa Fisheries University (TNJFU), Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) attended the course.
