Linguistic and religious diversity is a major strength of our democracy - Shri Tomar

The Joint Hindi Advisory Committee Meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare today.

The Union Minister emphasized on disseminating the information about new policies, programmes and latest researches and developments in agricultural sectors to the farmers with the help of Hindi (Rajbhasha) language. Shri Tomar stressed that this initiative will benefit the farmers of far flung areas too. The Union Minster urged on enhancing the respectable status of the Hindi (Rajbhasha) language from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Shri Tomar emphasized that the linguistic and religious diversity is the identity of the nation. The Union Minister stressed on carrying out the routine works of the Central Government Departments in Hindi language. Urging on timely completion of the work of developing simple Hindi Dictionary, he outlined the various farmers’ beneficiary works being carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare in Hindi language. The Union Minister stressed on continuously increasing the pace of implementation to achieve the targeted goals.

Shri Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare emphasized that the use and compliance of simple Hindi will increase the national language’s pride. The Minister stressed that the feeling of patriotism strengthens through national language.

Shri Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare stressed to provide the farmers with necessary information and advisories in Hindi language, it being the largest spoken language in several parts of the country.

Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) and Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Secretary (Agriculture & Cooperation), Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India along with the Committee’s Members - Smt. Sunita Duggal, Dr. Rambodh Pandey and Shri Vijay Kumar also expressed their views on the occasion.
