The ICAR-Central Arid Zone Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan organized a Kisan Gosthi on “Scientific production technologies in Rabi Crops” today.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Zabar Singh Solanki, Former Vice-Chancellor, Agricultural University, Kota, Rajasthan appreciated the Institute’s research and extension efforts.
Dr. S.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Jodhpur, Rajasthan applauded the Institute’s efforts.
Dr. O.P. Yadav, Director, ICAR-CAZRI, Jodhpur, Rajasthan urged the farmers for adopting the new technologies and diversifying their farming to enhance their income and resilience. He also encouraged the farmers to organize themselves into Farmers’ Producers’ Organizations (FPOs) for enhancing their bargaining power in the market.
The queries of farmers on production and management of arable and horticultural crops, livestock, pest and disease management were also addressed by the scientists during the Kisan Gosthi.
The occasion also marked the field visits by the farmers and farm women to the research and demonstration units at ICAR-CAZRI like Cafeteria of Rabi Crops, Forage Garden, Resin Block, Cumin Seed Production, Dairy Unit, Horticulture Block, Fodder Production using Water Harvesting, Agri-voltaic Unit and Animal Feed Block Unit, etc.
Around 198 farmers from Jodhpur, Barmer and Jaisalmer Districts of Rajasthan participated in the event.
