ICAR- National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad organized three- day skill development training on “Integrated Farming System- climate smart dryland technologies” under SCSP in collaboration with Agricultural Research Station, ANGRAU, Anantapuramu, Andhra Pradesh for SC farmers from 11-13th August 2023.
In the inaugural program Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, highlighted the importance of integrated farming system in agricultural production for promoting economic, social and environmental well-being. He urged women farmers to form self help groups and start their own businesses like vermicomposting, millet value addition, etc. which can significantly contribute to boost the rural economy.
A total of 60 men and women farmers from Kuderu and Atmakur mandala of Anantapuramu district attended training on the aspects of conservation agriculture, Integrated nutrient and pest management, livestock production most importantly weather based farming practices.
