National Training Program on “Recent Advances in Assisted Reproductive Technologies of Small Ruminants”

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Goats (ICAR-CIRG), Makhdoom, has organized a national training program on “Recent Advances in Assisted Reproductive Technologies of Small Ruminants” from Sept 20th-27th, 2023.

The program was organized by the Animal Physiology and Reproduction Division, sponsored under for students and research scholars of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities to provide knowledge and hands-on practical exposure in the area of assisted reproductive technologies pertaining to small ruminants.

Former Director, ICAR-CIRG, Dr. S. K. Agarwal, and Director, ICAR-CIRG, Dr. M. K. Chatli, were present during the programme.

The training program involved practical as well as a few theoretical deliberations by in-house faculty as well as distinguished guest faculty members.

The topics covered in the training program were oocyte collection, grading, evaluation, and IVF; the latest developments in human ART; isolation, culture, the establishment of fibroblast cell culture; and single-cell isolation and maintenance of cell lines; laparoscopy; ultrasonography; genome editing using CRISPR; transgenic animal production; immunoassay of hormones; cell counting; semen collection; cryopreservation; and AI in goats.

A total of 12 participants participated in this event.
