ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad conducted two-day National Workshop on “Pathways for Effective Implementation of SC Sub-Plan Scheme in ICAR” during 18-19th August 2022 in Hybrid mode. The objectives of the workshop were to deliberate on issues and challenges faced in effective implementation of SCSP across ICAR institutions and to identify consensus-based operational reforms and good practices to be for effective implementation of SCSP scheme.

During the inaugural programme, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM said the guidelines which are being developed in discussion with the nodal officers of ICAR Institutions will ensure smooth implementation of SCSP scheme in ICAR and thereby ensuring livelihood security of deprived sections of the society.

Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM stressed the need for identifying entrepreneurial modules in agri-horti sector which greatly improves the nutritional security and ensures equity among different sections of the society in Rural India.
During the workshop, brainstorming sessions were held on three thematic areas namely challenges faced in implementation; good practices; and operational reforms. The points emanated from the brainstorming sessions were synthesised in the plenary session held on 19th August, 2022. Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao stressed the urgent need to bring out the guidelines document for effective implementation of the scheme at ICAR.
A total of 62 participants representing 21 ICAR institutes implementing SCSP attended the programme of which 34 attended in-person.
