ICAR Institutes celebrate Kisan Diwas - 2020
The 23rd December, 2020 is observed as the Farmers’ Day (Kisan Diwas) to celebrate the invincible contributions of farmers and agriculturists in enhancing the country’s economy.
The ICAR Institutes pan India also organized different activities to mark the celebration of Farmers’ Day (Kisan Diwas) - 2020.
ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Dehradun, Uttarakhand
The Institute celebrated the Kisan Diwas - 2020 at TSP Village Deu, Block Kalsi under the Clean India Mission.
Dr. Bankey Bihari, Head, HRD&SS Division apprised the participants about the importance of Kisan Diwas. He urged the farmers to be united and come forward for their rights.
ICAR-Central Institute for Arid Horticulture, Bikaner, Rajasthan
The Institute celebrated Kisan Divas - 2020 at Meghasar Villages of Bikaner District, Rajasthan.
The Chief Guest, Prof. (Dr.) P.L. Saroj, Director, ICAR-CIAH, Bikaner, Rajasthan highlighted the Central Government’s various farmers' welfare programmes / schemes initiated / carried out in the field of agriculture / horticulture. He urged the farmers to be benefited by such programmes / schemes for their own welfare and enhancing their income and living security. Dr. Saroj also outlined about the development of various new and improved arid horticultural production technologies suitable in hot arid climatic conditions.
Shri Moda Ram Meghwal, Zila Pramukh, Bikaner, Rajasthan and Shri A.H. Gauri, Additional Collector, Bikaner District, Rajasthan marked their presence as the Special Guests of the occasion.
Shri Askaran Upadhyay, Sarpanch, Meghasar Village & Chairman of the Function stressed on the Institute’s encouragement for the farmers of the village to adopt improved arid horticultural technologies on their fields.
The event registered the participation by more than 500 farmers, civil society official, politicians, scientists and students, etc.
ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering and Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal
The Institute celebrated the Kisan Diwas - 2020 on 25th December, 2020.
Dr. D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata, West Bengal apprised the participating farmers about the Central Government’s various farmers’ friendly schemes.
Dr. Rina Naiya, Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan outlined the different aspects of Swachhata initiatives taken by the Institute.
Around 20 farmers of Bhabanipur and Satypole Villages, Haringhata Block, Nadia District of West Bengal participated in the event.
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Washim, Maharashtra
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Washim, Maharashtra organized Former-Trainee Sammelan, Field Visit and Virtual Training Programme on “Water Melon Production Technologies” to mark the celebrations of Kisan Diwas - 2020.
In his welcome address, Dr. R.L. Kale, Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK, Washim, Maharashtra urged the participants for adopting the NADEP Composting Technique and Tech benefits of MREGS scheme.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. Vijay Shirbhate, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Durgapur, District Amravati, Maharashtra outlined about the works being carried out in the field and efforts taken through project formulation for boosting the dairy farming enterprise in the Amravati District. He also provided the tips for starting new agriculture enterprise.
The trainees were also felicitated with Certificates during the occasion.
