ICAR-NAARM starts Innovative Practices in Extension Research and Evaluation: Virtual Training Programme

The ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad has organized the 21-day Virtual Training Programme on “Innovative Practices in Extension Research and Evaluation” for developing the critical abilities of extension professionals to conduct quality research and evaluation from 8th to 28th September, 2020.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension), ICAR emphasized on the need for extension research in the present scenario. He envisaged towards developing sound methods and models for helping the field functionaries in effective delivery of the extension services.

Highlighting the need for “rigorous approach” in advancing the extension science, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad urged to look into the “mechanics” of conducting the extension research.

Dr. S.K. Soam, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad emphasized on educating the educators and trainers about improving the delivery mechanism in online training and extension programmes.

The training programme registered a total participation by 59 participants from 19 states of the country.
