The ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cattle, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh celebrated its 35th Foundation Day today.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. A.K. Misra, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists’ Recruitment Board, New Delhi urged for enhancing the Institute’s visibility to improve the cattle productivity of the country. He regarded the Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Genomic Selection, value-addition of dairy farm products as the important advancements that are to be exploited for enhancing the cattle’s productivity in the country.
The Guest of Honor, Dr. R.K. Mittal, Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology, Modipuram, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh applauded the Institute’s contributions in the cattle development over the past 35 Years.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Abijit Mitra, Director, ICAR-CIRC, Meerut highlighted the Institute’s significant achievements and activities and the future research targets & programmes for implementation. Dr. Mitra also stressed the diversified use of cows beyond milk.
The Institute also signed the two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the SVPUAT, Meerut and Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture & Technology, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh during the occasion.
The Senior Officials of ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities were also present on the occasion.
