Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR and Dr. Amrish Kumar Tyagi, ADG (Animal Nutrition & Physiology), ICAR visited the ICAR-National Research Centre on Meat, Hyderabad today.
The DDG visited the Institute’s different laboratories, viz., ISO/IEC 17025:2017 NABL Accredited Meat Species Identification Lab, Chemical Residue Analytical Lab, Meat Proteomics Lab, Packaging Lab, Nutrition Lab and inaugurated the Meat Microbiology and Cultured Meat Labs.
In his address, he applauded the Institute’s efforts in taking-up the several meat sector issues of National importance. Dr. Tripathi also stressed on the need for taking-up the activities across the country addressing the large group of stakeholders. The DDG emphasized on developing the relevant technologies to ensure the doubling of farmer’s income.
The dignitaries released the “Immunochromatography-based Pork Detection Kit (IPDK)” Technology developed under the Department of Biotechnology-funded Project during the occasion.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. S.B. Barbuddhe, Director, ICAR-NRC on Meat, Hyderabad briefed about the Institute’s activities.
